- States using the federal marketplace, HealthCare.gov: Enrollment ends on January 15, 2027. To have coverage start on January 1, choose a plan by December 15.
- States with their own marketplaces: Start dates and deadlines may differ. See the state table below.
- If you choose a plan by the deadline, coverage generally starts on the first day of the following month. For example, choosing a plan on January 10 means coverage starts on February 1.
